We were approached by an artists products manufacturer to provide a simple low-cost automation machine for a cosmetic product.  The basic requirements were for a compact machine to apply hot-melt adhesive to a container and transfer it between operators.

The solution provided consists of a simple in feed and accumulation conveyor, manually loaded by a packing operative in between other tasks.  This feeds containers into a pneumatic escapement that automatically feeds them under a hot-melt adhesive applicator either by timed release or footswitch activated by the operator. The operator then assembles the product and places them on to a label applicator at up to 30 parts per minute.  The finished parts are returned to the first operator for packing.

Provision has been made for the addition of automatic loading and assembly at a later stage.
